NHS and Independent Care
care gives us more time to spend providing personal care and attention to our patients. We can use high
quality dental laboratories and we are able to take advantage of the best modern dental materials for a more aesthetic, natural
If you choose to see our dental therapist for hygiene and periodontal treatments these will
be provided independently. If you need these types of treatment we will discuss all of the options
with you including costs. However, the decision on whether or not to have independent treatment is yours:
You have the right as an NHS patient to receive clinically necessary treatment under the NHS. Certain treatments
such as cosmetic treatments are not available on the NHS.
If you choose an independent treatment option, you can still have the
rest of your treatment and future treatment under the NHS.
NHS patients who opt for independent treatment will receive a completed
FP17DC form giving information on the NHS and private treatments to be provided, and their associated costs.

Patients who choose to pay for their treatment on a wholly independent basis receive the following benefits:-

Private patients may opt to join our private dental
scheme. Patients make a small monthly payment in return for regular examinations, hygienist treatment,
any necessary radiographs and a 20% reduction on our normal private fees. Monthly payment allows patients
to spread the cost of their dental care and so provides peace of mind. Our staff will be pleased to provide
further written information about the scheme.
